我们在湾区一家有点名气的木地板店买了巴西樱木，当时店老板说他父亲有执照带亲戚
安装地板有十余年经验，亲戚也有五六年经验。约了他父亲上门估价，人很认真，价钱
也合理，就决定用他们了。先交了全部材料费，一万多。工钱说是装完满意再交。开工
了，发现亲戚变成了老墨，老板也不总在场，但是他反复说工人很有经验，要我们放心
。现在地板铺完了，才发现他们犯了重大技术性错误，在wood subfloor 上用了塑料布
隔水，而不是roof paper，这会引起mold。(Our neighborhood has high moisture
environment) 是给我们装卫生间的师傅后来说的（鄙视一下这个师傅事先不告诉我们
，等生米成熟饭才告诉我们，太不厚道）现在想问我们该怎么补救? 让他们重铺?按说
他们应该负责，完全是他们犯的技术性错误，请大家支招!?

yes, the moisture will be trapped, unlike paper, it is breathable. It is
their fault, I just cannot believe they have been doing this for years and
not knowing this. I think they should reinstall the whole area at their
expense, but the party involved is Chinese vendor and labor, I don't know
how to proceed.

可能也不用太担心。如果subfloor下有地下室或者crawl space，湿气不会集中在
subfloor上。然后钉地板的时候膜也是千疮百孔了。然后如果说真有moisture问题，那
在木质subfloor上根本没法铺瓷砖了，那个湿气更没法透过。

yes, they used plastic sheath, not paper. We saw it.

The owner's dad told us he didn't think about mold and moisture issue when
he chose to use plastic instead of paper. He told us in the past when they
use roof paper, some people don't want it, because it is toxic, that is why
he went ahead with plastic, but he didn't discuss with us about the options.

I had seen a few of these "20 years experienced expert" contractors myself.
Even when I pointed out their mistakes they still didn't understand. Basic
mistakes such as two guys installing hardwood on both ends and then meet in
the middle...
Too many stupid mistakes to list.
