I have a BOA echecking. Last month, a friend sent us a payment by depositing
cash (or check?) over his local BOA counter. Unsuprisingly, I got $12
monthly fee. Because this is the very first time I got hit by such a fee in
over a year, I had hoped to waive the fee easily this time, particularly
considering my good experience in Citi and other credit card companies to
waive similar fees
First call: the CSR did a long review for about 5min, but came out and
said it is valid (which is obviously true), so she can't waive the fee...she
further suggested me to change my account to MyAccess account instead. I
politely said thank-you and hang up.
Second call: I was disappointing but still had hope. So I made a second call
immediately after the first one. A gentleman answered my call with a nice
voice. But after a quick review, he mentioned that he can see the
transaction has been reviewed today (obviously the first call), and that the
charge is not bank's error, so he won't refund or waive the fee.
obviously, the system recorded my call or the first CSR left some note
there, so it makes no more sense to keep calling again. Lesson learned and
luck didn't show up :(.
