I spoke with xxx today and she informed me that Monday is your last day with
xxx. I’m happy to have a call next week to answer any questions, but I
want to stress the importance, if you haven’t already, of filing to extend
your EAD/AP as that will allow you to work without needing the H-1B. I know
xxx plans on filing the withdraw on Monday, so the chances of you finding a
new H-1B employer within that timeframe are slim. You can still move to an H
-1B after the fact, but the AOS-based work authorization is your best option
at the moment.
Also, as your AOS has been pending for more than 180 days, a new employer
won’t need to file a new PERM/I-140 provided your new role is similar to
your role with xxx, so software engineering.
