《温家宝谈教育》近日由人民出版社和人民教育出版社联合出版发行。今年3月，
温家宝卸任国务院总理一职，距今仅7个月。作为卸任后的第一本书，温家宝在给出版
社的亲笔题词中表示，要“把这本书献给孩子们，献给教育事业，献给祖国未来”。
朴素淡雅的封面，没有新书发布会或座谈会等活动……一如人们熟知的风格，《温
家宝谈教育》一书在向来注重宣传造势的图书市场上显得颇为低调。但这并没有妨碍此
书继《朱镕基讲话实录》之后成为人们关注的热点。
政要于卸任后出书当下已经十分常见，以温家宝总理的身份，以其从基层到中央的
丰厚阅历，他退休后的第一本书为什么选择教育话题？在偶然巧合这一说服力不大的解
释之外，应该还有其他两种视角，或者注重教育的全局性、基础性地位，或者留意于温
家宝本人和教育的联系：早在2003年3月，温家宝第一次与采访“两会”的中外记者见
面，开场白即曰：“我是一个很普通的人。我出生在农村的一个教育世家。我的祖父、
父亲和母亲都是教员。”温家宝在总理任上时，其深入各大中小学、与学子们那种“从
来不准备讲稿，都是用心交流”的对话方式更是让人们耳熟能详。这一切是否又在表明
，这位从农村教育世家走出的大国总理，的确对教育具备特殊的感情？
理解了这一点，就会明白，“献给孩子们，献给教育事业，献给祖国未来”，这样
的题辞很难说是一句套话。翻开《温家宝谈教育》一书，无论温家宝以往的讲话、报告
、谈话，还是一些没有公开发表的文稿，字里行间透露出浓厚的人文精神和心系教育的
情怀当然让人动容，而就内容而言，也堪称是过去十余年中国教育在曲折中发展，而发
展中又难免留有遗憾的生动展示和总结。
温家宝担任国务院总理的十年，是教育事业在前人基础上取得快速发展的十年。举
凡通过实施职业教育助学金、职业教育免费等政策促使职业教育突飞猛进，推动实施对
全国农村地区义务教育阶段经济困难学生“两免一补”，2012年中国实现教育财政性经
费占国内生产总值4%的目标，研究制订《国家中长期教育改革和发展规划纲要》，都是
中国当代教育史上浓墨重彩的手笔。而温家宝本人对教育的理解，随着“讲讲穷人教育
学”、“教育应当由懂教育的人办”、“一所学校最重要的，是要倡导自由之精神、独
立之思想。青年学生要有自己独立的思考，这是最宝贵的”、“我希望青年要做事，不
要做官”等话语的广泛流传，事实证明早已获得了社会和公众的认同与支持。
依赖对教育的这种深刻理解，在花团锦簇之中发现隐忧因而顺理成章。“为什么我
们的学校总是培养不出杰出人才？”这个著名的“钱学森之问”当时出在钱学森之口，
入在温家宝之耳，而其影响则绵延不绝。温家宝后来关于教育改革的一系列论述，诸如
“教育行政化的倾向需要改变，最好大学不要设立行政级别”、“加快建立现代学校制
度”、“增强学校办学自主权”、“不但大学应由教育家办，中小学也应当由教育家来
办”，未尝不可视作系其对钱学森之问的求索。
就在《温家宝谈教育》一书酝酿出版的前后，和其他事业一样，中国教育仍在前进
之中，但同时也在遭受某些顽症的干扰。作业负担过重而导致的中小学生自杀事件时有
发生，因为对知识改变命运的质疑，新读书无用论的沉渣泛起，诺贝尔奖颁发之际所激
起的国人焦虑……审视这些现象和问题，如果参照眼前这本《温家宝谈教育》，是否会
有复杂的感受和全新的思考？
“教育质量亟待提高，教育投入亟待增加，教育体制亟待改革”，不要忘记，正是
在人们通常认为中国教育取得巨大成就的时候，温家宝提出了这“三个亟待”。这意味
着一份难得的清醒，代表着对自身责任的深刻认知。只要中国还需要教育，中国教育还
需要发展，这样的清醒和责任都不可或缺。

啊，不是，今年还没盛开

Not much change from several weeks ago. Still only a handful of trees have
started to bloom, all on the eastern side of the lake. We're seeing signs of
a few preliminary cherry blossom on some trees. We don't expect full bloom
for several weeks.

网上看到的parking tip
I'm planning on going for DimSum first and park in the parking lot across
from Ocean Seafood on the opposite side of Hill Street. it's only $5 for
the
day and not far to walk over to Olvera Street. Two birds with one stone
:)
--------
going north on Caesar chavez when you next to Olvera pass the chevron on
the next block turn right next to restaurants or park in Union station.
Olvera has 4 parking lots around it but you pay a premium for the spot
