Software Developer
We are seeking a Software Developer to develop and maintain components of
the finite element solver.
Responsibilities:
• Develop finite element/optimization software within OptiStruct
team
• Maintain and develop utility software for builds and qa process
for OptiStruct and other solvers
• Develop and expand internal data structures and base algorithms
in finite element solvers
• Participate in tuning and optimization of specific routines/
algorithms
• Help in maintenance of computer systems used for development,
testing and qa in Austin office
Requirements:
• Computer Science degree, or engineering with significant CS
component
• Knowledge of FORTRAN, C, C++ computer languages, with proficiency
in at least one of them
• Knowledge of scripting languages, e.g. perl, Tcl/Tk
• Design of algorithms
• Experience in software development under Windows and Linux/Unix
• Debugging skills, using MSDev and/or gdb
• Desired: understanding of basic principles of finite element
methods
• Desired: experience in building engineering software
• Desired: development of parallel software
• Able to work independently in a small team, developing
specifications after receiving high level directives all the way down to
coding, with minimal supervision.
• Capable of building good relationships with the rest of the team
even when working under pressure.
Sr. Software Developer
We are seeking a Sr. Software Developer to develop finite element/
optimization software within OptiStruct team.

solver in particular based on domain partitioning approach
• Develop algorithms for complex solution sequences in engineering,
e.g. multi-physics, global-local analysis, etc.
Requirements:
• Engineering degree related to the development of finite element
method applications
• Experience in development of parallel software
• Experience in FORTRAN, C, C++ programming
• Experience in development under Windows and Linux/Unix
• Design of algorithms, and data structures for numerical analysis
• Able to work independently in a small team, developing
specifications after receiving high level directives all the way down to
coding, with minimal supervision.
• Capable of building good relationships with the rest of the team,
even when working under pressure.
