呵呵，多半是被complain的让站长干的。我最近忙着看宝宝，没看着这些帖子:) 近来感
觉在本版问问题的多了一些，我觉得这和law版被放在移民专栏有关系。这样的类似“xx
律师是大骗子”的标题是会比较显眼的;D
其实这种信息如果属实的话是非常valuable的。律师实在是良莠不齐。这点我有亲身体会
。就算是Martindale rated AV的律师，写的东西也可能是狗屁不通。好的律师不好找。
所以谁知道那个律师好那个律师不好拿出来share对后来的人是很有帮助的。
但是cyberspace的匿名性让posts的可靠性打了折扣。谁都可以随便register一个ID出口
伤人。反正你不知道我是谁。站长在不知道谁对谁错的情况下，多一事不如少一事也是可
以理解的。
反正大家挑移民律师要小心，最好是拿到绿卡的朋友推荐的，同时自己也要比较一下，做
做research，清楚他们在干什么，不要交了钱就什么都不管了。另外除了来学校做广告的
这些律师，每个州都有一些比较prestigious的律师事务所，也做移民。一个中等规模的
所，technical writer charge的大概是$100每小时

There are 2 famous Indian immigration lawyers: Sheela Murthy (www.murthy.com)
and Rajiv S. Khanna (www.immigration.com). Both have very good website and
good reputation.

Being a good immigration attorney can be very rewarding. This seems rather
apparent. But some people can't see that and just want to earn fast cash.
Reputation is everything in the long run. If you do bad things, people will
find out sooner or later.
If you are hurt by a lawyer, complaining to the state bar is one way to seek
redress.

I recommended Sheela Murthy to a friend on this BBS. He had a complicate
background, and used a not-so-common way for his Labor Certificate.
He just told me that his I-140 got approved (LC was approved months earlier)
and expect I-485 to follow soon.
I believe there are some (or many) good Chinese immigration lawyers.
However, it seems people have to rely more on word of mouth (references
from friends, etc.) rather than advertisement when choosing them.

Considering the time and efforts involved in applying for a green card, this
is a serious choice, and worth the extra care that we take to shop around.
Thanks for recommending some good lawyers. Once I asked in immigration board
if anyone can recommend a good immigration lawyer. Nobody replied. I have a
friend who self-petitioned and got his I-140 approved last year. Looks like
many people could have made a career out of immigration law:) But I believe he
