I don't know about china, but in the U.S. this is not what happens typically. representing someone and giving them the best service is the duty of a lawyer. even if the lawyer suspects his client really "did it " the lawyer will try hard to find all evidence that supports the client's innocence, and push the government to prove otherwise. Teaching the client to lie is usually not an effective strategy because the opposing party's lawyer may easily poke holes in the fake story. Als

The US legal system is what's called an "adversarial" system, in which lawyers are advocates and judges are referees. The entire process, at least supposedly, produces "justice."

Sometimes the system produces undesirable results in practice. Democracy is often imperfect in practice, but it's the best system we can have thus far.
You got a point there. The litigation system is far from perfect. But here is the thing: while identifying problems with the justice system is relatively easy, finding a solution is much harder. Also, using TV show to support your point is a little melodramatic.
