Last time Allen Stanford visited the New York office, he walked around to
check whether everybody has his/her Stanford Eagle pin on. He asked what
would take to put the Stanford Eagle logo on the mid-town building where we
lease 4 floors. I liked the ambition although the it is the ambition built
on top of the illusion finally kills the golden eagle.
Allen Stanford's grandfather was a barber who bought an insurance company
during the great depression in 1932. We used to joke how many heads he

看了看industry的工作, 想去的公司都freeze了.打算博士后一把,
自己情况: biomedical时序信号处理方面. 感觉博士读下来,解决问题的勇气和思路基
本是有了, (毕竟被逼着看着七七八八的paper, 对其他各种数学工具, 虽然不太懂, 但
是也知道能干什么)
给老板说了postdoc的想法, 老板问我想做什么方面的. 我是一头雾水. 现在想想有几
个options:
(1) 找个注重theoretical的, 把自己基础在加强一下; cons: 虽然天资驽钝, 但是感
觉理论,还是可以自己学习加强的. 以后真要去学术圈, 只知道理论我也不知道怎么去
申请课题.
(2) 找个还是和biomedical 应用关联的, 知道别的application 怎么搞.
各位大侠觉得postdoc什么最重要那? 我总觉得是要见识一下我自己没有做过的东西:
最好是一个系统里面的一部分, 用一些仪器或者平台我没有机会接触. 这样是不是比

车子停在apmartment 的parking lot,有roof company 在换房顶，一个铁叉子掉下来留
下了一个划
痕，这个有人看见了。另外还掉下来的有屋顶的那种橡胶皮，在hood上留下了面积不小
的一片小划痕。这个当
时橡胶皮在hood上的时候，我没照下来。现在那个roof company说只赔偿铁叉子的划痕
，因为有人看见。不
赔偿hood上的划痕。我到修车的地方做的estimate 是1100多，现在他们只愿意赔偿700
，不肯再多出一分
钱，这种情况我能做什么，是不是只能接受这个offer?

大家找外校的博士后一般怎么找，是看人家网上上贴出来的广告吗，我大概搜了一下，
好像很少有贴出来说招博士后的。是不是要主动陶瓷，去毛遂自荐呀？
