美方已经答应给我一个visiting fellow award，但我的博士学位要到明年4月左右才能拿
到，美方要求我提供学校的Dean or registrar office 的证明，证明我能拿到学位的时
间。请问我到底应该找学校哪个部门开这个证明，学院院长可以吗？
另外，我要去的是一个美国国家研究所，职位有visiting fellow 和visiting
scientist之分。请问这个visiting fellow 是博士后职位吗？它和postdoctoral
fellow, postdoctoral associate 有什么不同？

和hardcover相比较区别和优势是什么？谢谢啦
有看中的书没有hardcover，只有library binding版本的

The only real notable difference is that Library Bindings are done by a more
-or-less independent third-party, whereas a hardcover is issued by the
original publisher. Library bindings are more durable, but may not look as
nice as proper hardcovers (more utilitarian than decorative), and typically
lack dust jackets or anything like that.
In terms of recommendation, I only go for the library binding if a hardcover
version is not available. Like I said, it doesn't look as nice, but it's
certainly more durable than a paperback.

As long as there is a signature, that should be fine. Your dept chair should
be OK.
Essentially they are the same, all living on soft money, but most of the
time, a postdoctoral fellow == postdoctoral associate position comes out
of a grant that the professor just obtained. The duty of this postdoc is
closely linked to this specific project. Term is usaually fixed, like 2
years, or 3 years.

还好吧，我理解就是图书馆那些hardcover，没觉得有啥特别的不同，好像笨重点？

大概我比较古怪，我觉得图书馆里那种书特有感觉，小时候一心想当图书馆管理员

小时候那些硬壳书么？
那会儿一人一个小抽屉index cards找书也蛮好玩的
