“You always have to keep pushing to innovate. Dylan could have sung protest
songs forever and probably made a lot of money, but he didn’t. He had to
move on, and when he did by going electric in 1965, he alienated a lot of
people.”
And their connection goes beyond that.
为了显示he is in control,他会说她
Steve后来说,“I thought I was in love with her, but I really just
liked her a lot.” Joan说:“I belonged alone”。
Joan Baez attended and performed, along with Bono and Yo-
Yo Ma.

最近我读了daniel epstein 写的bob dylan的传记, the ballad of bob dylan,这位
As a poet,he was perhaps more sensitive about this than your
average liar."

A Woman's Worth, by Marianne Williamson。(BTW, highly recommend it
to all women at all age.)
Why are we always trying to figure out how to be more attractive to
men, anyway? Why shouldn't they work a little and try to figure out how to
be attractive to us? Not every man knows how to handle a woman who is full
of passion, glory, power, and intelligence."
I guess she just has not met a man who is truly compatible to her.

There was one classic musician Jobs revered both as a person and a performer
he creates on his cello. They had met in 1981, when Jobs was at the Aspen
Design Conference and Ma was at the Aspen Music Festival. Jobs tended to be
deeply moved by artists who displayed purity, and he became a fan. He
invited Ma to play at his wedding, but he was out of the country on tour. He
came by the Jobs house a few years later, sat in the living room, pulled
out his 1733 Stradivarius cello, and played Bach. “This is what I would
have played for your wedding,” he told them. Jobs teared up and told him,
“You playing is the best argument I’ve ever heard for the existence of God
, because I don’t really believe a human alone can do this.” On a
subsequent visit Ma allowed Jobs’s daughter Erin to hold the cello while
they sat around the kitchen. By that time Jobs had been struck by cancer,
and he made Ma promise to play at his funeral.

对一个访谈印象很深,大致意思说apple的设计是we are proud of what we don't
include,而不是we have everything。
在畅销书the world is flat里,提到很多公司名字,被提及的个人,就是bill gates

an example of his reality distortion field:
Another engineer, Larry Kenyon, explained an example of the ‘reality
distortion field’.
Steve Jobs told him the new computer was taking ten seconds too long to boot
up.
Kenyon said shaving ten seconds off wasn’t worth the effort it would take.
But Jobs cut him off.
He said “If it would save a person’s life, would you shave 10 seconds off
the start up time?”
The engineer thought it was a silly question.
Jobs said “If I could show you a way you could save a person’s life, would
you do it.”
Jobs was so intense that Kenyon said, he guessed he’d have to find a way.
Jobs started writing numbers.
He said “Okay, we know around 5 million people will be using this computer
every day.
We know that 5 million times 10 seconds, every day, is roughly 300 million
hours a year.
So we know that by cutting 10 seconds off the startup time, you could save
the equivalent of at least a hundred lifetimes a year.”
Larry Kenyon just sat there open mouthed.
He couldn’t argue with it.
He’d never thought of it like that.
He suddenly saw the world of computers from Steve Jobs’ perspective.
Not that tiny things didn’t really matter.
But that tiny things mattered incredibly.
Two weeks later Larry Kenyon came back with twenty six seconds shaved off
the startup time.
