比较着急，正在和公司联系，也没有什么经验，希望板上的好心人能提供一些经验和建
议，先感谢啦
在NYC的公司做的暑期实习，也算是很大型的Fortune500美资企业了，可是不知道为什
么，公司的传统是interns不能直接direct deposit，从来都是月底发check
直接到手上。最后一个pay check，因为summer internship是月中结束的，离开公司的
时候还没有到发工资的时候。然后就搬回在New Jersey的家里。但是一直没有收到最后
小半个月的pay check。中间偶又搬到新的住址，早就发了邮件提醒compensation
office新的地址。compensation accounting 部门回信的职员每次都回信挺慢的，也从
来没告诉过我什么时候check寄出到新的地址。
今天（10月22）突然发信告诉我，19日已经有人把他们发出的那张check cash out了。
我现在连信封的影子都没有见到，很明显的有人拆了我的信盗领。我应该怎么联系公司
方面，最大程度挽回这笔我应得的钱呢？以前从来没有遇见过支票被盗领的情况，而且
我也从未收到envelope

1) contact the bank and police to report it;
2) show the report to the company;
3) they need to issue you another one.

噶崩菜了，偶还在跑 Ubuntu 11.4
有个x11proto-gl-dev 只有 1.4.12-1
需要 1.4.14 的
完了，重装系统吧
装 Ubuntu 还是 debian sid 呢。。。

I don't think she can contact bank. She didn't even know which bank.
You should report to the company immediately that you didn't cash the check.
The Accounting dept in the company has the copy of the cashed check. They
should contact their bank to get the money back. -- since sb can only cash
the check in his/her bank. So the bank will be able to find out who did it -

这下知道为啥老要重装系统了吧
还是去rolling release的distro得了

偶 dist-upgrade，跑 12.4 了，不重装，hehe
而且这玩意不知道能用 hd-media 直接从 iso 安装不能
怪怪，只有个 1.1GB DVD img 下载
把 Debian 的网络安装方式扔了啊
连个 USB 安装教程都没有。这年头谁还刻 DVD 盘。。。

the company can issue a replacement check after you filled out one
fraudulent claim with required notarized signature.

They don't check names, but it's easy for the company to
contact their own bank to figure out where the money has
gone to. And it's certainly a fraud.

people who would do this would do it with a fake ID, and cash the check,
not deposit

I didn't know you can cash a check. I thought you always had to
deposit it into your banking account and bank will hold it for
around 7 days before it's cleared.
Fake an ID for a small pay cheque is not worth it.

you need to have an account with the bank to cash a check. so it is easy to
find out who did that.

Remember you'd better write "for deposit only" when you endorse your check ?
This is just because someone else can cash your check, if this check was
signed to his name or account.

Bank tellers usually don't care what endorsement you have on the checks.
Sometimes, even you dated the check next month, you still will have your
check cashed.
In this case, the bank who cashed the check might be able to find out the
person who cash lz's check.
But the company definitely has to issue you a replacement after you report
the case.

thanks for the informative reply. Right now what I am informed by the
company's accountant is that the check has been cashed about at Chase. And
if everyone needs to have an existent accout before cashing out any checks
at Chase, then this is easier to track.
what else things should I do besides reporting to the company that I didn't
receive the check (done already)? I'd appreciate it

I think if you cash out a check, they do check. If it's deposit, they don't
care. So it's probably cashed out in
some "cash-your-check'' place.

嗯，早就在 usps.com改过了，但是一直没有收到转寄的邮件。

你有发信给公司的功夫干吗不去usps.com花1刀改一下地址呢?

LZ不要着急。
我以前也有过，CHECK被别人偷存了。
你就告诉发check的公司就行了，
他们会重新发check给你的。
至于这之后跟银行怎么追帐，应该跟你毫无关系了。

喔，感谢传授经验。是不是默认是公司负责这笔工资到应得的人手里（说来惭愧，应
该是8月的pay check，回到学校以后一直忙，也没有盯着催，中间搬了一次家，昨天
才告之）。我应该耐心地等公司那边的comp accountant追踪和处理。那边爱理不理的
样子，没有电话号码，一切只能email联系，话又经常只说半句，这也是让人感觉不太
踏实的一个方面。
