if you go solar.. from 1/1/06 to 12/3107, installing solar system can claim
up to 30% of the equipment's cost..
no idea how much system costs though, plus in my area.. sunlight is little

if you build a new house,it is good to do that with a less
up front cost.
the solar system could return all generated power in the
house back to the power network. A lot of cases, it will
be able to totally offset your electricity bill...
