Yes, the bank won't honor the seller's appraisal. But the sellers want to use that to insist that we should buy at the original contract price. We will need to order another one if eventually we want to buy the house.

Do you have the assets to pay for the difference? If you do, then you can still use the appraisal you already got. If not, then you might have to go get a loan from a different lender. Nowadays, lenders can't appoint a particular appraiser. They have to order through an appraisal company, and that company randomly assigns an appraiser to the case. If you keep using the same lender, there's a chance you might get the same appraiser again...

You are drugged. I don't know why you should trust the seller instead of bank appraiser. Regardless, you can't get a loan and that's the deal killer. You don't need to say a word to the seller, let the market do the job.
