在学校作了5年的博后，两年faculty. 现在被funding 折磨的整天头大, 想转到工业界
.但找了近半年了,末一个offer. 其间有HM打过电话,但再末消息. 揪接中,不知该乍办.

是本地的一家小银行。他们说－
“We would not be able to do any fixed rate loan or any loan that we would
sell because our investors will not accept an F-1 Visa.
We could look at it for an adjustable rate loan that we would not sell, if
you're interested in that product.”
请问答复中说的“an adjustable rate loan”是不是就是ARM？除了利率不固定的风险
之外，这种贷款还有什么劣势吗？

that's right. only difference is rates will adjust (up or down) after
initial fixed period but there's various "cap" to give you some protection
in case rates spike. worst case would be 5% increase from your initial rate
. other than that, no diff

这个利率有可能不会具有竞争力，因为你的不是conforming loan,会被银行keep成为
porfolio loan.

conforming loan就是银行会卖给两房,所以利率低,风险小,Portfolio loan就是银行要
拿在自己手上,利率比较高.

Fannie Mae/Freddic Mac. So most likely that your loan principle will be with
this two government sponsored enterprise eventually.
Portfolio loan is most likely to be kept by lender/bank.

Get a good job, earn higher salary to support family, this is 硬道理.
There are many good jobs in USA industry which you can do.
I helped many Bio people found good jobs in industry. It took only three to
six months.
