My agent told me that our loan got fully approved and it is time to remove loan contingency. On the original contract, we agreed to remove loan contingency in 14 days, and it's been more than 3 weeks since we signed the contract. Since we are first time buyer, we want to know what to look for before we remove the loan contingency. Some online posts suggest not to remove loan contingency before close of escrow, but I am not sure whether that is a common practice or not. I am in California. It is seller or listing agent who has strong motivation to remove all contigency. In practise, once your loan is proved (with some remoable contigency), you could consider to remove loan contigency.

Now a days, the loan process is so complicated that you could get surprise even at the last minute before close. The loan contingency is there to protect you. Don't remove it if possible.
