The lender of my second townhouse will not even qualify for a secondary home although the property is more than 50 miles from my primary residence. Can spouse buy a secondary home assume the loan is under one person's name.

The borrower need justification to convince the udnerwrite the 2nd townhouse is your 2nd home instead of investment property. 50 miles away from your primary residence along is insufficient (unless you could prove that your 2nd home is much close to your office, etc).

Thank you very much for the reply, assume my current home is financed/declared as primary residence, am I qualified to apply for another primary residence? What happened to the first house that was financed as primary residence?
