the inspector said there is problem with the settlement， but didn't say how
serious the problem is. so 我们又找了个foundation repair company to come
and check tomorrow。大家看下问题大吗？是98年靠湖的房子。爸妈还在墙角发现一个
小洞，结果掏出了一大堆虫壳和带翅膀的虫子尸体，还有几只死蜜蜂~！

The mortar joints were not properly sealed, and its' common for insects (e.g
. bees) to nest in them. The bugs have nothing to do with differential
settlement in foundation, unless you noticed vertical cracks (more than
hairline) in the slab that were wide enough for bugs to enter.
