对付蚊子的一些小诀窍 ---- 和大家分享一下# Living

因为住在蚊子较多的地方，又不太喜欢用非自然的药水如"off"等，查了一些资料，也
试验了不少方法，总结了一些小诀窍。因为有朋友问起，发出来和大家share 一下，希
望能多少有些帮助。（很抱歉，录的时候是英文的，有空或需要的话再做中文的。）

1. Scent of Mint
Carry some mint leaves in your pocket and leave some mint leaves under your
pillow or around your house. Of course, this only works if you like the
scent of mint.
2. Moss Balls
Crush moss balls into powder and spread around house corners, both outside
and inside. This method does work, though I don’t fancy its smell.
3. Tomato leaves
I have a toddler home and I never fancied the idea of spraying chemical
stuff such as “off” on her tender skin, so I tried a variety of “recipes
” and one thing did work well for her: crushed tomato leaves. Rub crushed
tomato leaves on exposed skin can keep mosquitoes off for quite a while.
4. Lemon-scented Geranium Plant.
This type of plant is not grown for its flowers, but for its scent. It’s a
bit harder to grow in New England’s weather because it grows best in
temperatures that range from 50-60 degrees at night and 65 to 75 degrees
during the day. I always try to plant some in my back yard during summer
months because their scent is known for repelling mosquitoes.
5. Wrap light bulbs with orange cloth or hang some green scallions or
onions under light
I normally only use this method when I am on the patio or outside of the
house. Mosquitoes don’t like orange light or the smell of scallions or
onions.
