看上一个房子，6年新，房主1百万全新买的。里面非常漂亮。现在我们想八十万买。
问题是区不好。大多是白人蓝领。town也不是最好的town. 附近的房子都是5，6十万的
。这个房子如果八十万的话，price/sqrt ft = 175. 附近的recent sales 大概在200-
250左右。bank 2010 年assess过，说房子值1百万。
大家说买这个房子，住7-10年，会亏吗？能卖掉吗？

we are going to buy a house which is in very similar situation to yours.
we are not thinking about selling it right now. The point of that house is
the enjoyment, not resale.

but this house we are buying is not in a good school district, a bit futher
from work. it is said nobody who has money will go there to buy houses. the
yard is also small, just like all other new houses...

It is up to you.
Some of my friends bought beautiful new houses in a so-so school district.
They enjoy the houses at the beginning but feel financial pain later. They
have to pay a lot to keep their kids in decent private schools, which often
charge them 30,000~50,000 annually.
Based on my experience, most of Chinese families value their school district
more than their houses' appearance.

这样的情况我劝你三思。

这种房子我一般跳过。
基本都是在比较老或者普通的社区了，
拆掉一个旧房子盖个新的，社区环境很不好。
住了不会舒服的。

房子舒不舒服很周围环境有很大关系，你现在看着觉得好看，真的住进去就能感觉的跟
周围格格不入，还有更高的被盗的风险，不好。

I see.
The house we are buying is not in a good school area either. The schools are
not bad, but not that good from most Chinese's point of view. The yard is
not big but not small like a townhouse. The only thing better than your
house is that it's very close to our work locations, which is a main reason
we choose this house.
