not likely going to marry in the future. i see many American colleagues with
many years of working experience only purchase small and inexpensive houses
(they are married with families), but usually Chinese (and maybe Indians,
Russians) buy expensive mansions, what is a good size for a single guy in
rural/suburban Texas?

also, is it a bit stretch for a single 100k sallary to afford a $200k house
with like $800 HOA and 3.4% property tax? being single means once you lose
your job, you lose all household income, so there is increased risk as
compared to a couple.

but rent is skyhigh these years. the motive of purchasing a home for me is
to save money, is this mission impossible?
Other reason is I want a homegym, and want to have place for occasional
family guests.

the bills.
small house neighborhood tends to be less disirable

买1500-1600呎，3 bedroom SFH,将来也好卖，也不要付HOA fee。

单身买房最大的问题是工作稳定不稳定。如果不稳定，最好有至少足够两年的生活费用
的存款，如果工作好找，至少一年的费用总要吧。如果现在可买可不买，最好还是不买
，不买的目的是为了以后买的时候有更多的存款，压力也就没那么大了。
