Contract opportunity with Expedia (Seattle Area) - Senior Marketing Analyst

Expedia is looking for statistics and data science support for one of our
key marketing channels. The primary objectives of the role is two fold –
the first, to assist the channel in its review of algorithmic based 3rd
party tools used to optimize marketing efficiency and secondly, drive the
team to the next level of by developing predictive and forecasting models to
inform an automation engine. The person or team will leverage an existing
set of robust data to determine the key indicators of optimal performance,
and use those indicators to create a statistical model to serve as our
automation engine.
Tasks will likely include:
• Lead development of predictive modeling / forecasting and
analytics projects using cutting edge data science techniques ((including
linear and logistic regression, decision trees, experimental design, cluster
analysis, factor analysis, multivariate statistical analysis). Using an
existing robust data set, identify the leading indicators of ROI performance
, and define data model to surface predictive indicators.
• Partner with both business and engineering teams to
leverage data model to support automation system. Define test and learn
process to continually improve model.
• Understand the general goals and targets of our existing
3rd party algorithm solution to help business team determine its efficacy.
Assist in making recommendations for further improvements, and help
interpret changes made and improvements / depredations in the model.
• Provide analytical support, statistical analysis and
problem-solving skills as needed within the department.
• Assist the team in sharing insights from analysis,
disseminate results into high level presentation for senior management.
• Experience in the application of data science to marketing
automation, specifically in the area of search marketing.
• Evaluate the productivity and profitability of marketing
campaigns and identify opportunities for improvement. Identify statistically
significant change in performance and
