More than 30 tech companies made a commitment to the White House on
Wednesday to track and set workforce diversity goals.
The pledge by companies to make their workforce more representatives of the
public was signed by a number of high-profile companies including Airbnb,
Box, GitHub, GoDaddy, Intel, Lyft, Medium, Pinterest, Spotify, Zynga and
others.
The companies pledged to set specific diversity and hiring goals, and also
to publish the data openly. They further vowed to "invest in partnerships"
to increase the pipeline for tech talent.
"With the eyes of the world on Silicon Valley, today the Obama
Administration is announcing new commitments to advance inclusive
entrepreneurship and innovation here at home," the White House said in a
statement.
While "Tech Inclusive Pledge" sets a general goal to make companies "fully
representative" of the U.S. public, it allows companies to set their own
pace.
The pledge appears less rigorous and specific that commitments that the
Congressional Black Caucus has tried to pressure companies into signing.
The tech community broadly has a poor track record at diversity.
According to statistics offered by the group running the pledge, 9 percent
of tech workers are black or Hispanic. That number is only 1 percent among
venture capitalists. The vast majority of patents are also filed by men.
The White House has used its bully pulpit to press the industry in the past.
Last year, it got 10 companies to agree to consider diverse candidates when
it is looking for new senior executives.
The pledge was wrapped into a broader slate of tech-focused initiatives the
administration rolled out on Wednesday ahead of President Obama's talk at
the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Silicon Valley on Friday.

Investigate Jimmy Kimmel Kid's Table Government Shutdown Show on ABC Network
I was very disturbed by Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘Kids Table’ show. It was aired on
ABC recently and talked about killing all the Chinese so that the states do
not need to pay back their debts to China. The kids might not know anything
better. However, Jimmy Kimmel and ABC’s management are adults. They had a
choice not to air this racist program, which promotes racial hatred. The
program is totally unacceptable and it must be cut. A sincere apology must
be issued. It is extremely distasteful and this is the same rhetoric used in
Nazi Germany against Jewish people. Please immediately cut the show and
issue a formal apology.

一、总以为丑女好泡
我在我过去的文章中曾经说过我有一位大学同学，因为自身条件很不好，所以他就
去泡全校最丑的一位女生，结果泡了大半年也没泡到，遭到对方N次地拒绝，并被很多
人嗤之以鼻。后来在我的提醒下，他把他那锲而不舍的精神用来追求一位“千人瞩目”
的“系花”，结果一个月之后那女孩就怀了他的孩子，并为之成功打下了有史以来第一
胎。后来他们俩毕业不久就结婚了，现在日子过得很好，两人都非常感激我。
对于这件事而言，我认为我的作用是微乎其微的，发挥决定性作用的还是泡妞主体
的个人觉悟及其爱情自信心。我今天不想用“丑女多作怪”来形容一些女性，这样毕竟
有些太不人道，但我今天想说的是，有些长相一般的女人对自己太不自信从而导致了爱
情良知的缺失，她们总不相信这个世界上真的会有男人来主动追求她们，即便是有了，
她们也会毫无理由的将姿态放得很高很高，努力想要获得比那些美女更多的荣耀和自尊
。我觉得这么做，很容易让她们患上心理上与智力上的双重疾病。——这就是导致丑女
难泡的心理因素与智力因素。
当然，我并不是想建议广大的泡友同志们要有意地抵制丑女、崇尚美女，丑女一样
可以平易近人，美女一样可以傲气凌人，

No. For low liquidity of CD, the customer should have the higher return.
In case, the expected future interest rates are lower.

for longer term CDs that might be the case - you get higher rates because of
the loss of liquidity.
but for short term CDs, it is quite normal to see the rates are lower than
savings due to the expectation of future rate drops
