A was a postdoc when he met B, who was a graduate student. A was 32 and B
was 22. They happened working on
the same floor. They liked each other, as friends. By an accident, B found
out A is gay. Since then B opened up
himself to A, because he has struggled with his own sexuality for a long
time. They fell in love since then.
A found a biotech job and moved away three years later. But this does not
stop them loving each other. They talked
on the phone everyday and tried to see each other whenever they can.
Two years later they finally moved to a same
city. They promised each other: they will never separate.
Unfortunately, life likes to tease good people. A was hit by a car and
became disable. They lived on B's poor
postdoctoral salary. A asked B to leave him, due to his disability. B said
he would never, since they have promised
each other.
Three years later, B finished his postdoctoral training but could not find a
job. But they still stayed together, even
though when they have only one dollar left sometimes. In the end they
decided to go back China. Since then, nobody
has heard any thing from them.
Last year, someone has met two men carried two little girls in a city
outside of Beijing, one man was on a wheelchair.
"who is the father? These girls do not look like either of you?"
"neither of us. They are adopted"
"oh, then who are you to each other ? You seem live together? You just
take care of him?"
"no, he is my promise" both of them almost said at the same time.
In that year, A was 42, B was 32. They were seen together with two
little girls all the time in the small city, since then......
