正准备申请OPT STEM Extension，看到学校ISO网站上指导申请的准备材料上有一项是：
Brief employer statement showing how your work is related to the STEM field
of study
需要这个材料么？I-765上没有要求啊。
还有，大家选得是 "Renewal of my permission to accept employment (attach previous employment authorization document)" 这个选项么？

我被告诉应该选申请新的，而不是renew，原因是stem extension和第一年的OPT
属于不同类型，不应该算作renew

是：

倒，我们学校的ISO的网站上说应该选renew，而且还特地在ISO的表格上预先勾选了
renew这个选项，到底该怎么选啊？
还有，需要那个什么“Brief employer statement showing how your work is related to the STEM field of study”么？

I think so,
also the code in I765, you fill (c) which also has the same meaning,right?

(c)指的是stem extension的code吧，就是不知道extension和renew的概念是不是一样。
不知C3B和C3C算不算同一个类型的。

这是我们学校ISS发给我的信
STEM Applications are “Permission to accept employment” since you are
applying under a different category from (c)(3)(B) to (c)(3)(C).
It is a new work authorization not a renewal.

i use renew, and i got my opt extension approved, maybe it doesn't matter

Did you include the statement?
I-765 says nothing about it.

Just check http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-765instr.pdf
Renewal EAD: An EAD issued to an eligible applicant upon the expiration of a
previous EAD issued under the SAME category.
Anyway, maybe this is not an important issue
