Sorry I can't type Chinese here.
I have an offer from a teaching school. Due to family reason, I probably
have to look for industry job in the future. Will the teaching school
experience as assistant professor (CS) be helpful if I look for industry job
later?

第六年了，还没毕业。老板为了让我省钱，大部分工资是用fellowship发的。学校给发
了1042表。上面什么税也没扣。我想今年要填1040表。有关social security tax，深
有疑问。
1) 中美treaty明确表明不cover social security tax (or FICA)，只讨论income tax；
2) Pub519 上明确说明Resident Alien 的fellowship也要交 FICA；
3) IRS 却说可以免，student FICA exemption。
看得我是一头雾水，好象 3和2 有点矛盾。另外，第六年的wage要交FICA吗？我的W-2
表上，FICA依然没扣。
我看了本版精华区，还是不明白第六年F1 fellowship到底要不要叫FICA。请明白人告
知，谢谢。

虽然我也没啥经验，但是愿意说两句自己的看法，供参考。

个人觉得和教的东东有一定关系，
如果你教OS，直接搞一些Linux kernel的东东，
可能还是有市场的。
其他的似乎，对工业界的工作没什么帮助把。

NO IT DOESN'T HELP.
industry recruiting is very simple. it only asks 2 questions:
1. will this person do the job well?
2. will this person work well with other team members?
your experience and your education should answer these 2 questions. faculty
or not, doesn't matter.

For sixth year F1, should be regarded as resident alien for tax purpose. I
also think it is because of the student FICA exemption, but I couldn't find
the right document to support my point.
