Job Description:
Job Title : Engineer I
Duration : 12 Months Contract (with Possibility of
Extension)
Location : Juno Beach,FL
Description
Under general supervision, the candidate will provide engineering support
for Distributed Generation Photovoltaic solar projects. The candidate will
act as the project engineer and work with 3rd party engineering firms,
specifying system requirements, providing design direction, evaluating work
product, and other supporting details as required. The ideal candidate will
demonstrate knowledge of solar plant PV design: layout, production
analysis, system schematics, NEC regulations, low and medium voltage
distribution systems, metering, and utility interconnection.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
6+ years experience with project engineering
Experience with electrical design and the National Electric Code (NEC)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with solar PV design
Knowledge of and experience with the electrical interconnection process
Knowledge of solar PV products commonly used in the US
Understanding of various aspects of market conditions, such as incentive
structures, utility tariffs and interconnection rules and regulations in key
solar markets.
Ability to balance multiple projects
Ability to meet attendance requirements
Ability to work extended hours
Ability to travel
Primary (Essential) Job Functions:

Assist with all design and engineering functions, supporting projects
through construction completion and financial closing
Produce high quality engineering work product while adhering to design
standards
Creation of conceptual PV plant designs: PV solar layouts, PV solar
production estimates, and single-line diagrams
Creation of engineering scope documents for individual projects or project
portfolios
Coordinate the application for and completion of project interconnection
Review of design documents from outside parties to confirm code compliance,
constructability, and cost optimization
Management of consultant engineering resources required to meet all design
and professional engineering requirements
Participate in the selection process for implementation and qualification of
products and material suppliers, developing and maintaining supplier
partnerships as needed
Provide timely deliverables to meet project schedules
Coordination with the Project Development team to meet customer requirements
and departmental goals
Perform site qualification visits to document existing conditions as needed
for design
Regular communications with teammates and participation in meetings
