求助：关于“腰椎管狭窄”

我有一阿姨得了“腰椎管狭窄”症。每次走路腰椎都非常疼痛。她在中国和美国医院都
去看过，唯一的办法就是要她做手术。但是这边医院说了这种手术有风险，万一失败可
能会导致更坏的结果也许会瘫痪．．．．阿姨已经快七十岁了。。所以不敢冒这样的除
。可是如果不做手术，这个病就无法医治。
所以想请问大家：
1。除了做手术外，有没有其它方法可以医治？
2。阿姨忍住疼痛，坚持每天走路40-50分钟。不知道这样每天走路运动是起到负作用呢
还是会帮助病情的改善。
现在阿姨关于做手术的事很矛盾，又害怕拖久了会使腰椎病更严重，希望有这方面医学
知识的朋友能给予帮助。非常感谢。

手术。任何手术都有风险，但如果找个好医生好医院发生的概率很小。走路不会影响她
固有的病。

you are right, but for her age, maybe it's better off to undergo surgery to
relieve her pain.

你是说就算做手术也不能彻底治好她的病，最多只能减轻她的疼痛？谢谢解答

i think the study is maine spine study, which is a cohort study, the
patients who had surgery had relief in the first year but over the course of
next 4 years the effect diminished, some of them end up to repeat the
surgery,

if you are really interested, you could sign up a trial(free) membership at
new england journal of medicine, in may of this year(2007) there is a pretty
good debate regarding what kind of patients would need/benefit from back
surgery for lumbar stenosis, there is also a pretty good video explaining
about spondylolithesis and herniated disc and corresponding surgical
procedures,
or if you could teach me how to post picture files i could see if i could
download some of the pics and post them for
