United States Embassy/Consulate
Non-Immigrant Visa Section
Dear Visa Officer,
Hello! This is xxx, a Ph.D student in xxx. I graduated from xx, xx at the
end of 2011. My graduation ceremony will be on June 15, 2012 at xxx. I
believe the ceremony will be an exciting and extremely important moment in
my whole life. So I would like to invite my parents to attend my graduation
ceremony, sharing my success and happiness. My parents need to apply to the
B2 visa for this journey. Definitely they will need your help during the
visa application. I am writing this letter asking for your help. My parents
’ names are listed as below:
Father xxx
Mother xxx
My father applied his visa before, but unfortunately his applications were
refused. The visa refusal is a big surprise to me since I believed he does
have very strong ties in China. Here are the actual FACTs which my father
failed to present clearly last time:
1. My father is a cadre of the trade union in xxx. He is busy with
publicizing the corporate culture everyday. He loves his work. It is hard
for him to take a short vocation.
2. My father have owned three houses, one in xxx for living, two in xxx for
renting. He need to take care of the renting business in China. It is
impossible for them to stay in US for a long period.
3. My father does not understand English at all. It’s not practical for him
to live in a English-speaking country without his favorable TV programs and
delicious Chinese food. Furthermore, he might get bored with much less
friends to talk to.
I am looking forward to the reunion of my parents and wish to get support
from you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me
either by email at xxx, or by telephone at xxx.
Thank you for your help!
