我是3个里面的第2个候选人，最后一个候选人是上周五走的，我的感觉应该是这周应该
有决定了。今天收到Search committee chair的email，说收到我寄给他报销的收据了
，会交给秘书处理，就一句话。email里什么都没提关于面试的事，落款是best wishes
，是不是希望不大了？

因为4/9/2012我的H1又到期了，现在学校问我什么时候交485.

我觉得自己对男人的要求不算高，除了长得高长得帅，只要有责任心就好了，可是现在
的男朋友每次遇到需要他出来担当的事情都选择退缩，我已经快心灰意冷了。男朋友做
到这个份儿上，真是不容易。
他从小在美国长大，但是性格却不是美国人那种敢作敢当，热情大度的。就像昨天去餐
厅吃饭，服务生态度不好，我教训了她两句，本以为他会帮我，没想到却坐在那儿闷声
不吭，我真是尴尬死了。
还有我第一次怀孕，那时候因为种种原因不能生孩子，让他想办法带我去打胎，可是他
嫌丢人不想去，怎么逼他都没用。最后还是朋友陪我解决的。那时候大家就劝我分手，
说跟这种没有责任心的男人在一起是没有将来的，可是我也知道自己在固执什么，坚持
要再给他一次机会。
说实话，跟这种人在一起真的很累，没有安全感不说，很多事情都要操心。我以为自己
总有一天会教会他负责任，让他成为一个真正的男人，可是在一起都三年了，我脸上都
开始有细纹了，而他还是跟个长不大的孩子似的。妈妈一直催我回国相亲，为了他都快
跟家里闹翻了。真是太累，也许结束了两个人就轻松了吧？

你不是Top one,不过也不是没有希望，目前市场上的明星一般都有多个Offer,如果Top
one不去能轮到你，一般两，三个星期以后没有消息就是彻底没戏了。

考虑到离最后一个candidate结束才两个工作日，我可能有些过度解读。不过，假如我
是top one，至少committee chair应该提一下会尽早让我知道结果啥的。所以有点担心
...

刚才顺便回邮件问search chair什么时候可以有消息，他回信说下周三committee会
meeting讨论所有三个人，然后向dean推荐选定的人，如果被选中的人接受offer，还要
background check，正式offer要3月初。还感谢我continued interest in this
position.
他的回信非常中性，我有点疑惑。因为看了chronile.com上的一些帖子，大多数情况下
是一旦面试完最后一个人，committee心中的首选应该已经有数了。还是这个中性的回
复表示我可能不是他们的首选？

不开完会谁也没数。有的时候search committee 定的人还能被 APT committee
否了呢。你就安心地等着吧。该干嘛干嘛~~

recommendation已经出来了，周五最后一个离开之后已经通过email交流了，faculty不
休息的，礼拜六也可能发信，有什么好开会的，又不是发年货，等到下周三，还？这么
小白还怎么混啊？除非严重分歧或者一个都不想要，如果是这样本周就已经打破头了，
现在正在打ing

一般最后一个来面试的结束的第二天就差不多知道是谁了，所谓committee到dean都是
走个形式而已，我现在待的地方和原来的地方都差不多，有时候会有争议，这个争议
chair很快就会摆平的，最晚也不会拖过一个星期的。

The Search Committee will meet on February 4 to discuss all of the
candidates we interviewed. We will recommend to the Dean that one of the
candidates be offered the position. If he accepts our recommendation, the
University will run a background check and confirm that the candidate
received the degrees listed in his dossier. This is the routine procedure
for all hires at the faculty level, and will take several days, perhaps
weeks. With luck, we should be able to offer the position to the candidate
we select by early March.

人家哪里好意思直接说you，所以改用he代替了
赶紧后悔你不是she，如果你是唯一一个she的话，邮件里可能就写的是she了

学校不可能等一个月的，正式合同差不多，在这之前口头早定下来了。
都是客套话，别想了，是你的跑不了，如果有别的面试好好准备吧。

只要最后程序还没走完，他就应该是中性口气
如果程序没走完，他就跟你明示或者暗示什么
是非常不professional的
