PO说我的申请独立性不够强，现在的老板给的支持太多，要求我自己自愿withdraw,这
是什么意思？关键是最后说你要withdraw不能说是ＰＯ要求的。我问他具体那个部分显
示我独立性不够的，我的东西都是自己做的，没有现在老板支持也可以。他又支支吾吾
的不说。。。请各位老师明示。

which one is the best?
I just want to fresh up "thinking fast" ability and knowledge of algorithms.
I have been working for a long time. I am quite rusty in interviews. Got
family to support and the job is shaky... hai....

在CVS买的，刮开后发现只有8位PIN，无法在网上reload。
打CS也不通，还有人有情况么？

My site has a online code for interview questions practicing purpose. So far
it only supports C++, but I plan to add support for other languages (like
Java) soon.
Just click on "show i has 1337 code coding panel" to open up the coding
panel. You can write code on the right box, and the code output will
immediately be shown after you clicked "Run code".
It also has "Interview questions online judge" for testing your solution.
There are other sites such as ideone.com and codepad.org, but I think my
coding panel has the fastest feedback after changing code. Please use it and
leave a comment to me, and I'll try to improve it as best I can.

是的，我老板也说unusual.这个是program director，在eRA上是ＰＯ. 我申请的ＮＣ
Ｉ，后来我告诉她，这是我最后一年。她又改口说你先试试，这样十一月份还能再投一
次。我觉得很莫名其妙，怎么还有这样劝退的。。。

我们组去年有个美国人拿到了，老板说他给我们支持力度都很大，那个人就没问题。因
为老板是系主任，所以只让他写了institutional support letter.三个推荐人和合作
者从临床到基础都有，怎么写才能表现出独立性呢？谢谢！

I do not think you should withdraw it. The PM's behavior is questionable.
Here is one possible explanation for your situation. Your review is
favorable (but not so strong that the PM cannot reject). The PM does not
want to fund you and does not want to justify his/her decision either.

Thank you very much for your explanation! I will be happy to have score this
time. The proposal is showing "Pending IRG Review" and was submitted in
Feb cycle. Do you think that Scientific Review Officer has gone through them
in one month? PM did mentioned that she cannot interfere peer review
process, but can she decide the distribution of proposals to individual
reviewers?

This is very strange. Without just cause, you should not withdraw. If he
insists, let him put his request in writing.

I knew even as newbie in this business. No one including PIs or postdocs
around me experienced this situation. The wield part is that she said " I
can send you the documents to withdraw the application, but you can't
mention that it was instructed by PO."

I think you forgot to mention that under what situation that you are talking
to the PO. Are you talking to the PO because it is a re-submission? I
highly doubt PO will call you out of the blue.
If you are talking to the PO because you are re-submitting, and PO's
comments are based on the previous cycle's reviews. After you mentioned
that it is your last year, the PO probably changed his/her mind about you
withdrawing the grant because you will at least have two chance to submit
instead of one.
PO and SRO are two separate identities. They do talk but they suppose to be
independent of each other.

你可以写个email, 问这个PO让你withdraw的原因。要非常nice，说说自己第几年了
以后可能没机会了。然后说something like： I understand that if you suggest me
to withdraw, you must have a good reason. I would like to learn for the
future submission. 这些都是必要的，但最重要的是你这email要copy所有在你
grant上有关系的人不但是你老版学校grant office，更重要是NIH那一块。你如果看
出这PO是什么IC， copy他的老板同事。

太感谢您的建议了！我估计是不是老板的support letter写了mentorship的东西。老板
已经说要等评议回来再说，估计也不好改变他的决定。但是这一招可以下一次
submission用。
