AT&T is introducing new family mobile share value plan from 02/02/2014 and
additional $100 credit per new line. The new plan includes a family-size
bucket of 10GB data and unlimited talk and text. As an example, a family of
four can now get unlimited talk and text, and 10GB of data – enough for the
whole family to share – for $160 a month. See more options in the attached
pictures.

The biggest downside of the new plan: Should you upgrade into this plan:
You must take one of the following options:
1. sign-up for AT&T NEXT plan (lease a new phone and return at the end)
OR
2. bring their own device (read="use your old phone")
OR
3. purchase a phone a full retail price (read="buy new one at your own cost
without subsidy")
To give you a reference, I am a AT&T typical user. My 550min/month family
plan w/rollover time currently have 3 users (the maximum allowed persons)
with each one having a 200Mb data plan ($15/month, discounted to new
customers) and no text package. The current rate is $60 (two line)+$10(3rd
lin)+$15*3=$115. With tax&fees, the final bill comes to about $125, which
include a 17% employer-discount on the primary line ($50) only.
In the new plan, I will be charged $145+tax&fee surely w/o limits on talk,
text, and data plan (<10GB). In reality, we three don't use my monthly quote
, don't text alot, and 200MB is fine for us. So we won't upgrade. However,
you may choose differently.
