Twelve faculty members have received layoff notices at Minnesota State
University, Mankato as part of an effort to trim the school's budget.
Most of the layoff notices went out in May, but one more was issued last
week to beat an Aug. 1 union deadline for layoffs coming at the end of the
next academic year.
Four tenured professors received notices, eight went out to tenure-track
faculty.

1.定票
上Fandango.com，林肯中心晚场票价18.5，网上买票加手续费2.25.
tip：早上场即使是周末，票价也便宜，只要12
tip：到网上找链接到fandango.com，用visa signature卡，电影票买一送一。
2.停车
曼哈顿停车难那是真的。提早了很多赶过去，在附近街道转了很多圈，都没有找到车位
，最后采取守株待兔的办法，开应急灯在小路中间等人家把车开走，这招虽然WS，还挺管用，就是要花时间。很多人都那样干，看见一辆车在车位上亮着灯，以为他要走了，没想到靠过去一问，原来他的车外边上是消防栓，他也在和我一样等守株待车位呢，哈哈
3.进场
提前30分钟左右赶到了，老美的电影院不是对号入座的，要抢好位置还一定要提早去排
队。这一点和国内差别太大了，觉得特别难以理解，后来还因为一些原因，没法先去

如果20年后米国engineering school的enrollment 大幅度下降，特别是二三流的，因
为外国人不来米国混了，会有多少50~60岁的tenure了的发考题被咔咔？
一个系如果没有学生，和一个公司产品没卖出去，其实是一回事儿。

我们当时去晚了坐在走道边那排座位，电影开映了还有人走来走去，相当annoying...

挺管用，就是要花时间。很多人都那样干，看见一辆车在车位上亮着灯，以为他要走了

i watched it at the lincoln square too. walked 30 blocks from home, arrived
more than 1 hour before the gate opened, and already at least 100 people wer
e lined up there.
the movie is a bit dim and the color is not as vivid as i though it would be
. i think it's partly because the decaying of the films. the movie is awesom
e and i would love to watch it again.

michigan state去年来了600多, 交州外学费, 一个顶3个. 每年给学校贡献$20M的
收入. 而且这只是一个年级, 这个规模连招5年, 3000中国本科生, 每年给msu贡献
$100M, 相当于一万本州学生.

Come on, minnesota state 和 St. Cloud State 全是teaching-oriented,不能拿它们
代表minnesota. 我知道Univ. of Minnesota 有furlough,但是应该不会lay off
