If you just want simple ones made, you can just use a router.
If you want a little fancy one, you should use a molding plane or buy the fancy
rounter bits you need.

Oh no, but based on my experience, getting the right kind of tool for job is
getting the job 90% done. He will get frustrated with some cheapo tools and
give up. Nice tool will give him a more enjoyable experiece, and encourage
further DIY projects in the future. Don't you agree, 单爷?

I 100% agree.
但是，新人在还没有信心和兴趣的时候，不想投资太多在工具上。你想问装trim的人，
一定不是DIY的老手。现在要做window trim,以后没准还没兴趣呢。再说，不就装个
trim吗，到HD去挑个喜欢的molding，回来钉上不就行了吗？干嘛弄那么复杂呀。
你说的router bit，router and router table 的钱，够买全房的trim了。
我说的也不错吧？

I 100% agree with what you said too, but he is asking if it is possible to
make the trim yourself instead of buying from HD or Lowes.
