"research overlap and competition" 是找reviewer的充分加必要条件，你这是在暗
示editor给你自己添堵。其实，投journal文章的时候，没有必要加non-preferred
reviewer。你的文章如果特别好或者特别烂，reviewer也不敢乱来。如果在borderline
上，那就看editor了，跟reviewer关系不大。我有一篇文章，三个reviewer, 两个同意
minor revision without further review, 另外一个（我的对头）居然是rejection,
理由是一个鸡毛蒜皮的参数。editor comments 隐晦地批评了第三个人的意见，同意发
表。只要你以前没有得罪过editor, 一般来说peer review这个过程还是蛮公正的，再
说你要是觉得太委屈了，还可以到主编那要求appeal。

"投journal文章的时候，没有必要加non-preferred".
I disagree with this. I had a paper when I was a postdoc. I told my boss to
exclude a big bull from reviewing our paper, but he did not. This bull
showed her disliking of our work at a conference. Because of that, our paper
was rejected by a very highly ranked journal, although the other reviewer
give us very good reviews. Recently my student's paper ended up in the hands
of a competitor because I forgot to exclude him. And again, this person
gave us a hard time by making a lot of nonsense critiques and refused to
review our revision after a long delay. The editor sent the paper to a third
reviewer in the end. Fortunately our paper eventually got accepted.
Therefore I would always exclude reviewers that can potentially give you
problem to minimize the bad luck.
