I think that's because of your sound card has bad
frequency response.
In plain Words, the sound channel it provides simply
ate up the low frequencies and high frequencies so that
the result is not so vivid as the original.
Another possible reason (which may make you a little
comfortable) is the speaker you are using -- a small
computer speaker? Then forget about the bass part. Try
to plug the output to your guitar amp to see the result.

One question: if you play distorted guitar for a long time,
do you feel tired of that?
I mean, the sound is so noisy that you feel a little dumb.
I think that's a natural result since guitar can only provide
relative high frequencies.
If it's bass, I can stand it much longer,
since the sound of bass is much more comfortable.

Yes, I think playing(and listening) to highly
distorted guitar is pretty tiring. And I doubt most
Metal guitarists are half dumb, :).
But actually I just found out volume when recording is
very important. Since we are going to mix them up later,
each tracks will be relative weaker, so we need to
record it stronger than we really want. Also volume
seems pretty important to distortion. High volume
will make distortion sounds much better, as long as you can stand it..

你要直接用LINE IN录效果不如用好一点的MIC
从音箱录，背景噪音大一些，但是要圆润许多
我们现在用一个YAMAHA的PA，上面有REC OUT
那个录起来还不错，这种小东西上的过滤都
差远了。鼓我们是先录的，四个MIC，一个
在BASS，一个在军鼓，两个在空中录衩。PA
或是MIXER的好处是你可以同时接五六个MIC
录。
