It is usually true that a guitar cost more than $300-$400 is generally quite
good both in playability and sound, regardless of the manufacturer and brand.
Moreover, a guitar in this price range is usally versatile enough as the only
guitar for a beginer. However, most people won't shell out that much money for
a guitar. So here is my tip on this.
musicians friend often has some end-of-production or clearence guitars for
sale. Most of them are in $300-$600 range originally, but marked down a lot.

i found some local stores have good price on guitars
like my washburn, on musiciansfriend it was 1700, ebay has
it for around 1200, and this local store sold it for 800 and
we bought two (they were going out biz) and the ibanez i had
was 600 something in GC, i was wondering in a local store
a dude came in try to sell it for 200 to the owner, i gave
him 220 and got the whole thing.
my next move is a seagull acoustic and a parker guitar, man
they look nice, best of it is the acoustic pick up outpu
