I tried to extend my parents' in 2008. I didn't say it's for the babies as I
knew it's definitely not appropriate. I listed three reasons:
1. they have health problem and cannot have a long trip
2. there was earthquake in sichuan; traffic and security problems
3. there was 2008 beijing olympics; traffic and security problems
Unfortunately, my petition was still rejected. However, because of the
petition, they got one more month to stay while we're waiting for the
decision. Once we received the rejection, I sent my parents back within a
week. Half a year later, they applied for B2 visa and came again. Well,
during the visa interview, the visa officer said it's not good record for
them to extend in 2008.
One of my friends tried to extend her mom's visa while she's applying green
card for her. Their extension got rejected as well, but her mom's green card
application was approved.
Weird... anyway, it's really hard to extend; harder than applying green card
or another B2 visa.
