要知道，如果你在边境城市，一般情况下，墨西哥人不管你有没有墨西哥签证的，从前
面的帖子来看，是美国领馆要求墨西哥签证，所以，如果你拿着墨西哥旅游签证去领事
馆申请美国签证，那么就好像你在机场入境的时候，拿着旅游签证告诉移民官说要来读
书，呵呵

at the end of last year, I got a tourist visa for mexico. I then went to TJ
for my F1 visa renewal,
and traveled to mexico city and other parts of the country.
So I think it is fine to have a tourist visa. Just tell them that you are
going to visit Baja or some other parts of mexico. Heck, this could also be a
reason why you want to get visia in mexico rather than china. When I was
interviewed by the VO at TJ, I showed her my mexico visa, and we talked about
my travel plans.

As far as I know, you need a valid US visa only if you are applying for a mu
ltiple-entry Mexico visa, however, I will double check this restriction.
Things change dramatically recently. I doubt if it is right to travel to Mex
ico solely for a renewal of US visa while holding a Mexico tourist visa. I s
till suggest ppl going to Mexico apply for the right category of visa, which se
ems to be much more expensive and slow,however, for ppl really want to go,it
is better safe than sorry
