我女儿5岁，学小提琴一年多，现在suzuki能拉5首了。最近我这乐盲拿着本成人钢琴的
入门书，对着电子琴给她讲了讲左右手，好家伙立马痴迷上了，每次练小提琴前都要上
去摸一会，没事也去摸一会，能弹几个简单的曲子。于是我又开始嘀咕，是不是上个钢
琴课看看？大家说说看？

My son is learning both violin and piano. He is also five and has finished
13th song of suzuki book 1. He likes violin much more than piano. He can
play two hours violin each day but he is only willing to practice piano for
15 to 30 minutes. He does not like to follow the piano instruction ( esp.
the fingering positions). He can play all violin songs on the piano by
listening.
I think that piano is good in term of helping my son read music notes. But
it is hard to find enough time to practice both in a day.

Your son progress really fast. I almost gave up before finishing twinkle ...
Time is a big thing, we get home at 6 and she doesn't have much time.
But I really don't want her to miss anything she likes, sigh

Eventually, she has to focus on one instrument. If she likes piano more
than violin, maybe you can let her spend more time on piano than violin.

你们孩子都是3岁多开始学小提琴的吗？
我家小孩前段时间吵着要小提琴，刚买了一个1/8的。可是打电话问了几个音乐学校都
是要5岁才可以开始上啊。。。

1/4 is too big for 5 yo. At most use 1/8. My daughter use 1/10.
It all depends on the kids attention span and interest when to start.

噢，我刚才有个typo，其实买的是1/8的。你们请的是privat teacher还是group
lesson啊？我家小孩倒是能静下来，就是还没有找到招收5岁以下小孩的老师。。。:-(

my son started from private lessons. He also has two group practice each
week. The group class is required for the suzuki method by his private
teacher.
