Tao's mom stayed home many years. She was a high school math teacher before
immigrate to Australia.
Those were in the 1980s. Time is different. One income family with 2+ children could be fine at that time but will be tough nowadays. By the way, they didn't have visa issue, not like Chinese students, spent years on the greencard to be fully free do something.
