大家好，小女不才，master毕业找工作已经大半年了，哎
好不容易上个星期五等来了第二轮电面。是医院的职位。首先是HR, 她确定了我的身份（需要H1-B），学历后，问我有
没去过纽约，就叫医生和我通电话。
医生和我随便唠了两句，大体上就是说他经常来我们学校，他老婆要来我们学校读MBA了，还有篮球，blablabla....然后他
说，希望能见到你, i hope to see you in personal, 然后又对周围的人说：let's bring this person as soon as
possible.
然后，电话就交给我的小老板了（中国人），他问我什么时候能来面试，我说下个星期。然后，他建议我星期天就去那
里，在宾馆里待一晚上，星期一就面试，面试一上午，下午就把我放了。我说好的，但是我补充，如果hr觉得时间有点
紧，我也可以下星期的其他时间。对话hr也都听到的。然后，hr又接电话了，她说会在星期五下午给我电话的。
当时心里别提多兴奋了，想到后天就要去纽约，然后星期一就要面试。结果星期五下午没有收到电话。
今天也没有收到电话。给hr和小老板发了email.没有回复。

Let me tell you general situation about Windows Phone at IFA 2011, but
first let’s take a short look at Microsoft stand at IFA, which is placed
outdoors in so called “Sommergarten” (summer garden), on the left side
near the entrance to this garden:
As you can observe from photo proof above, nobody is interested in this
thing called “Windows Phone whatever”. No, frigging, body. As you can
see staff is basking in sun like snakes who are bored and need a tan.
What is on the show at Microsoft stand? Well, this sexy lady is:
… and she is presenting to me (as nobody else is there) what is new at
Windows Phone 7.5 (“don’t you dare call it Mango!” she said). She is
using HTC Titan to present Windows Phone 7.5 (main new feature being
multitasking) but all over the Microsoft stand there are demo units of
HTC Mozart running Windows Phone 7.5, what is silly because it is
outdoors and they don’t have AMOLED screen so I couldn’t see almost
anything.
Well, maybe I exaggerated that nobody is coming to Microsoft stand at
IFA 2011: in fact a news crew from very big German news channel N24 was
there and above mentioned lady was presenting Windows Phone 7.5 to them
too. The camera man from N24 was winking to me while looking at her.
But apart from Microsoft, what is generation situation of Windows Phone
at IFA this year? Well, there is progress: several companies, including
Acer, HTC are presenting new phones with Mango, err, sorry, I mean
Windows Phone 7.5 … and it’s much better than at IFA 2010 when there was
no Windows Phone at all.
Yes, sadly in all stands where Windows Phone is present (apart from
Microsoft’s own stand obviously) majority of smartphones shown is
powered by Android, and Windows Phone occupies only small part of all
phones shown.
Clearly highlights of IFA 2011, when it comes to Windows Phone, are HTC
Titan and HTC Radar, mainly HTC Titan, but obviously Nokia has not
released their phones yet, so one can say there is tranquility before
storm.
Coming up, in my next news items here: photos and videos from various
stands with Windows Phone stuff, including lengthy videos from Microsoft
(above lady in one-on-one action with me) and from HTC (including
presentation of video of wide angle cameras in HTC Titan and HTC Radar).

微软的策略有问题，Windows Phone 7不先提供中文支持。美国市场要看运营商脸色，
运营商不退就没法卖了。中国手机都是不锁的，用户自己选。Windows Phone 7如果先
进中国肯定会火，价格也比Android有优势。

中国的手机用户比美国的人口都多。WP7只要价格便宜，在中国热卖，就根本不需要看
美国运营商的脸色。WM在中国当年救卖了很多。这个任务等着诺基亚完成了。

I thinks it was just a bad idea to make a stand outside the real IFA,
because the most things are inddors.
But MS just made a stop with its "Windows Phone Truck Tour". Sometimes
they got really much attention. There is a video on youtube about the

Android being free is a misperception. Samsung, HTC and other OEMs pay
Oracle and MS loyalties for patents. There was an article claiming that MS
makes more $ from Android compared to WP7. This cost to OEMs will only go up
if Google loses to Oracle in the patent infringement suit, or if Samsung
loses to Apple. That's how the a3s in Motorola got Google to pay such a
premium to buy Motorola so Google gets access to the latter's patents to
better defend Android.
A side story is that Samsung got really pissed at MS because MS not only
charges them $12-15 for each android device but also cut Nokia a much
sweeter financial deal over the partnership. The net result is that Samsung
is expressing its anger by not presenting any WP phone at IFA.

我也觉得lz可能把next Monday 和coming Monday搞混了
教训就是，当时电话的时候就该拿着日历，和hr确认日期（几月几号）
对于广发email问这事情，我持否定态度，一来在lz看来事情很紧急，二来，问一个人
就能知道的事情，万一是自己犯了个傻错误，犯得着让那么多人知道嘛
顺道讲个笑话，是我知道的某生的博士申请，
他申完了以后系里给他发了一封信，确认他是不是申请: The Doctor of Philosophy.
然后，他很Q得赶紧email过去，还cc了好几个人，说：No, I am not applying for
the doctor of philosophy, I am applying for the doctor of XXX (XXX:某专业名
），然后他就再也没收到那个学校的回应了。

HTC pay abound $8 per device to MS right now. But Google may provide
HTC an umbrella and charge $4 with this MOTO acquisition, or free
if there are enough money to be made from traffic.
The point is, Google has the control, MS doesn't.

Android在中国，那些Google服务，经常被墙封。Google和中国政府关系差的一塌糊涂
，最近也不会改善。
微软的WP7不会有这个问题。只要微软在中国推出WP7，感觉最先火的会在中国。

这事你问一下HR就好了。别闹那末大。你心里急，可是有就是你的，没有你敲锣打鼓去
问也没用。
我们一个intern，给了offer以后想negotiate工资，给每个面试过的人都打电话，大家
觉得这人这么烦，进来以后更多麻烦，干脆就不要了吧。

如果没有IPHONE，只有GOOGLE和MS， WP7终究可能胜出（价格也是有关的），但是
要是卖的比IPHONE还贵，中国人更喜欢IPHONE。

哎目前的实际状况是这样子的：
他们打算在多找几个人一起onsite.
因为director发信给我，会打电话通知我面试的。
xxx, The Human Resource Dept will be calling you to schedule your
interview. Hope everything is well with you. Thank you. xxx
但是，但是，同志们注意了：我今天看到我小老板又发出了广告！因为我原来是这个职
位的唯一候选人。现在看来那天面试会不止我一个人了。

iPhone太贵，不适合中国大众人群。中国的农民工，估计还是买不起iPhone。
WP7差不多了，现在网上看到1600人民币左右就能买到，不过不是正式版的Mango。很快
就会到1000元左右了。
Android系统，用JAVA是致命弱点，运行不流畅，手机必然价格贵。WP7的硬件，
Android根本没法运行流畅。

随便一搜就能找到，可惜没有中文正式版。WP7是在中国卖的，能够运行流畅的最低价
Smart Phone。Andorid在这个价位上，根本没法流畅运行

你是对的，这个没有中文版在中国没戏，如果MANGO能够有1000～1500 RMB的机子，
在中国可以卖的很火。

我看过很多国内用WP7 Mongo的评价，WP7在1G单核的CPU上，运行流畅程度不输于
iPhone。
Android即使在最新双核的CPU上流畅程度都比不上iPhone。而且Android的电池是大问
题，很多人都要一天一冲电。
电池和流畅度是Android操作系统本身设计的问题。北美是运营商补贴，手机价格可以
是零。中国都是卖裸机，面对WP7可以用低价的Smart Phone，做到更流畅的运行，
Android的优势能保持多久，很难说。

windows phone 确实不咋地。上个月买了个入门级的smartphone （HTC imagio），
原装系统是个windows mobile 6.5, 那个慢的啊，要骂娘。拍个照，每次的等2分钟
左右才能照下一张。 NND ....气死了。也就只能打打电话，用其他功能只能找气受。

这个主要是硬件太差了。或者硬件差到都没机会挑软件的毛病。
htc自己做的桌面还很漏内存。

saying it comerping to chinese people. so make sure you explain the exact

你在搞笑吧。这个不用看评论，拿个WP7 cetus和iphone4一快比一下就知道了。流
畅程度不是一个量级的。
WP7.5在国内很难热卖，即使是nokea的硬件。

WP7.5能不能在国内热卖咱不知道，不过要说系统流畅程度，Windows Phone是最接近
iPhone的，Android就别提了，不上双核，四核能行吗，卡的跟一塌糊涂。
