On April 23, 2010, two important changes were made to the OPT regulations.
1) The 10 day "grace period" between employment has been eliminated. All
days of unemployment after the OPT start date, even between jobs, will be
counted in the 90 day unemployment allowance.
2) Employment in the 17 Month Extension is no longer required to be paid
employment. It must still be in the STEM field of approval and for an E-
Verify employer.
