is seeking a Database Administrator for the team located in NJ office.
Extensive hands-on VLDB experience in MS SQL Server 2005 and/or 2008 is
required.
The ideal candidate will have worked as part of a team on large-scale .NET
applications. Candidate will be responsible for performance monitoring,
tuning, and daily support of a mission-critical database-centric application
, and will work with the development team to evaluate new technologies and
architectural approaches. Strong proficiency with production
troubleshooting and log shipping a big plus.
Candidate must have strong analytical and communication skills and must be
comfortable working
in a dynamic, quality-driven environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent expertise
* over 3 years experience with MS SQL Server in large-scale, high
availability web based .NET environments
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Usage of native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
* Indexes and Statistics
* Query plan analysis and tuning
* Root cause analysis
* High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
* Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes
* Smart, dedicated team player
