Who We Need: Right now, we’re looking for a Help Desk Associate. This role
is responsible for managing the day-to-day queue of helpdesk tickets that
are requested by all employees. The Help Desk Associate must be able to
prioritize, as necessary, the tickets in the queue. Where necessary, the
Help Desk Associate needs to identify the most important tasks to resolve
each day. A primary function is to support off-site employees, especially
the sales team, in resolving issues in a timely manner. Additionally, the
Help Desk Associate will assist with generating system performance metrics,
performing back-ups, monitoring and managing server health.
Responsibilities:
• Perform the primary helpdesk activities in a timely manner,
including resolving all technical issues as they arise
• Maintain a 40 hour average of closing all help desk tickets
• Achieve a goal of closing most tickets within one business day
• Ensure Zag.com's workstations, phones and essential communication
systems function properly, and are reliable and secure
• Ensure all new employees are set up properly/assist with the on-
boarding process
• Maintain a complete inventory of all assets: hardware, software,
printers, etc. and other property owned by Zag.com.
• Check all applications to ensure daily operation is successful
• Monitor (via Omniture) all affinity partner email campaigns and
other marketing initiatives and their impact on site traffic
• Manage the procurement process, including researching computer
configurations and prices while providing timely delivery of assets
• Participate in weekly infrastructure team meetings to review help
desk tickets accomplished and those that are in the queue, and to review
system performance and availability metrics and analyze issues
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years in an IT help desk or technical support role
• Extremely courteous and friendly customer service attitude: a
great people person
• Skilled at demonstrating and explaining common software and its
use
• Meticulously thorough, detail-oriented, and careful work habits
• Amazing troubleshooting skills and the ability to find the root
cause behind any issue
• Perceptive of needs for hardware/software/tools/etc. to improve
user experience and services
• Ability to participate in project planning and then take personal
ownership of your portion
• Effective time management with respect to deadlines, priority
changes, and interruptions
• Expert-level knowledge of Windows, Office, OSX, desk/cell phone
configuration, and computer and peripheral equipment, and network
configuration and troubleshooting
• Experience administrating Active Directory, printer and file
shares, and firewall/internet connectivity
• Experience with IT purchasing and vendor interaction
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• A+ or MCDST certification a plus
• Experience with Microsoft SQL server, VMWare, MySQL, Apache, IIS,
HTML, Linux a plus
• Scripting and automation experience a plus
• FogBugz and/or TrackIT a plus
• BS degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering a plus
