The fix for yellow seems to be around the corner. Chrome's font issue also has a fix if you google it, although it is still buggy and doesn't support touch well. https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=160457 ----------------------------- Mark_Lenovo wrote: All, Right - no "fix" has yet been introduced to manufacturing, but it will be soon. It appears that our engineering has taken longer because they have done more than just fix the power manager state change glitch. It appears they have included "further optimizations". I've seen this update demonstrated on a Yoga 2 Pro this afternoon and have been provided a summary explanation which I'll relay here. The solution appears two part: 1) A BIOS update that updates the embedded controller to improve the LCD's rendering of yellow ... coupled with... 2) An updated versions of energy management that takes advantage of the new BIOS capabilities. When released to the web, the BIOS will need to be updated first, and then the energy manager. Both should be available early next week. Final testing is underway, and there are some packaging and doccumentation details to complete. I think it will go to the web team by end of this week (which is why I betting early next week). With this change, it isn't locked in performance mode so I don't think battery run times will be significantly affected. This doesn't involve changes to the video drivers, so I think we avoid that concern raised above. With regard to other OS's, Lenovo isn't providing formal support for those anyway, so this is business as usual in how we would address any other issue with the product as shipped. I know there will be more questions... I've shared what I know at this point . Mark
Chrome's evernote plugin and gmail checker plus are also much better. My biggest complain about chrome is: - blurry fonts on windows platform, compared to IE/Firefox, and it has been like this for a few years - memory footprint too big - consumes too much power, if you are using a laptop on battery, it's actually a legit concern.
