find the mem dump after blue screen, debug it. To be honest, for all the crashes I have experienced, very few of them (or I should say almost none of them) are caused by Windows itself. For video problem, try to clear all browser related data, like cookie, cache , history etc.

Almost all crashes I have debugged on my machine's crash (most were on XP, there were a few on Win 7) are flash related crash. There were once a crash is due to instruction pointer pointing to garbage, and for anyone understanding what instruction is, you know how dangerous that could be.

kernel is open source, everybody can download it, view it and compile it, and port it.I've even downloaded Android and compiled it. I believe there are some kernel hackers here. Many Android kernel features such as ashmem, wakelock are not accepted by kernel mainline, but people are working on it. Above the kernel, Android basically does not use anything else from Linux, although it uses lots of open source code. So you can call Android a Linux.
