Subject: Status Inquiry and Expedite Processing I-485 Petition to Adjust
Status (US Permanent Residency)
Dear Congresswoman Lowey,
My name is XXX and I have been living in XXX for almost five years with my
husband Dr. XXX and my one-year-old daughter XXX. I graduated with two
masters degrees from a top US University and I am currently working as a
XXXX manager at XXX; my husband graduated with a PhD from a top US
University and he is working as a Senior XXXX at XXXX.
We are very grateful for all that the beloved Westchester county offers:
friendly and hard-working citizens, modern infrastructures, best public
schools in the country, just to name a few. And in return we are working
very hard, paying our taxes, and try out best to bring our talents and
efforts to make Westchester a better place.
Both my husband and I are Chinese citizens, and we would very much like to
be part of this beautiful piece of land and contribute more to its community
by becoming permanent residents in the United States. We have been in the
United States for almost XXX years, and we started our application for
permanent residency almost four years ago. However, it has been a very long
and painfully slow process, and our I-485 Petitions to Adjust Status (to
obtain permanent residency in the United States) are still pending at the
Texas Service Center of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
As residents in the Westchester county, we are very familiar with your
excellent work for the people in your district. And in fact, my husband
participated in a couple of online petitions organized by you and your
office. We therefore would very much like to ask for your help to inquire
the status of our application at the USCIS TSC center, and we would also
very much like to ask for your help to expedite the process.
Please allow me to elaborate more about our case. I, XXX, is the main
applicant of the permanent residency. I am in both employment-based 2 and 3
categories (EB2 and EB3), sponsored by XXXX, and I have approved I-140 forms
in both EB2 and EB3. Our I-485s are currently linked to my EB2 I-140, and
we requested to transfer our I-
485s to be linked to my approved EB3 I-140 on February 15th, 2016. As of
today, March 1st, 2016, my priority date (April 1st, 2013) becomes current
in the EB3 category, which means that if the transfer of I-485 request is
granted, we will obtain our permanent residency immediately given the
availability of the visa numbers.
We learned recently from the USCIS/TSC that our case to transfer the I-485s
was
assigned to an officer for review. However, we have not yet had any feedback
on whether our request to transfer the I-1485 to the approved EB3 I-140 is
granted. We are anxious to know the results because we are very likely to
obtain our permanent residency in a very short time once the I-485s is
linked to the approved EB3 I-140.
We would like to ask for your help to communicate with the USCIS/TSC 1. to
inquire
the status of our request of transferring our pending I-485s (receipt # SRC-
XXXXX and SRC-XXXXX) to the approved EB3 I-140 (receipt # SRC-XXXX), and 2.
to expedite our petition of permanent residency, because the priority date
is current as of
today.
Our detailed information is as follows:
Main applicant: XXX
DOB: XXX
Priority Date: 4/1/2013
Approved EB3 I-140: receipt # SRC-XXX
Approved EB2 I-140: receipt # SRC-XXX
Pending I-485: receipt # SRC-XXX
Spouse: XXX
DOB: XXX
Pending I-485: receipt # SRC-XXX
Thank you very much for your time and we appreciate very much all your
efforts in this matter. Please feel free to contact me via phone, email, or
letter.
Sincerely yours,
XXX
