There use to be serve contango problem, which badly hurt USO.
But time has changed, oil will enter a new scenario, called backwardation,

Still slight contango with a little backwardation.... Natural gas will have
some meaningful backwardation from Jan 2011 though, but it is way too early
to claim it.

Guess they are dumping it now. Now the cost to store the oil is even higher
than the short/long term spread.
