8月中旬递的,12/4被RFE,officer #XM 1027
简单介绍背景:生物postdoc第四年,cliam老三样;review 20;3篇一作,是phD时候
的,很小的领域,一共就10个citation;一篇二作,今年3月份NCS,hot领域,围绕这篇
挖了许多,递交的时候因为刚出来不久,只有5 citation,不过这四个月citation已经
涨到20.一共交了13封推荐信,除了PhD老板和现老板,还有两个美国院士,一个欧洲院
士,四个引用一作paper的独立推荐人,及其他合作者等,在现老板和两个合作人的信
里强调了我是两个大grant的重要贡献人等等。
老样子,IO不承认original contribution,说citation太少,还有一些程式的话。但是
有一段话我的律师觉得她接过这么多case都没见过这么写的,大概意思就是说postdoc
大多还够牛,不quaulify,原文如下:
Generally,post-doctoral positions are awarded to early career professionals
to learn and refine their research skills. It is not synonymous with someone
who is at the top of their field. Further, post-doctoral researchers are
expected to do original research and produce results worthy for publication
in peer reviewed publications. However, not all post-doctoral researchers
are considered have extraordinary ability. It must be demonstrated that the
beneficiary's contributions have earned her the sustained recognition
required, compared to majority of other researchers in her field.
律师说从来没接过这个这种RFE letter,也没有接过这个IO 1027的RFE,没有经验,所以
倾向于withdraw and resend to try my luck.但是我真是不想等那么久,再重来一遍
。但我还想试试,能想到补的有:
1。citation上argue一下,到87天2月份提交会再多几个
2。从新出来的引用中能找到6个独立推荐人再给我写信
3。如果需要,老板可以promote我成research instructor.不过问题在于这个title需
要明年四月份学校才能统一批,现在只能由系主任出信说在process我的promotion.
4。从前在一个大会monitor过一个session,可以让主席(可惜是我们学校的)给出一封
信证明outstanding
想听听各位的建议,我到底应该respond不?promote成research instructor算不算
faculty?另外大家觉得找个在general领域(我是做cancer相关的)但不是在直接的小
领域的诺贝尔奖得主写信有用吗?
补充一下:我因为LD明年需要出国出差,为了方便回美签证,cocurrent了485.现在真
后悔这么弱的case就不应该存侥幸心理,又要损失这么多钱。
