What you told me previously is you double-paid your China part income both in US and China without tax payment deduction. Now it's clear you only paid for your China part income according to US rate, which is correct becauses US rate is higher than China rate. The key issue is you are deemed as a US resident. If you had stayed in China more than 183 days, then it could be a different story. It's good your lg knows well the tax issues. It really helps.

I'm not a tax adviser. Neither am I a fortune teller. I'm not in the position to know everything about your particular case. :) I was not talking about where you should file your tax. I was talking about a foreigner working in China wouldn't be double-taxed on the same income in both China and his/her home country. We're talking about the different aspects of tax filing. I don't disagree on what you said about your own US tax filing when you had some China income.
